There is a lot more to say than this and in time, it will come. For now, Rick and I want to say thank you, thank you, and thank you. This girl had a dream to open Rehana's as a tribute to my parents, specifically, my mother. I wanted to share my heritage, my upbringing, my faith, my passion for food and drink, my lifelong charge to serve, and most of all, to gather community for the greater good. Humbly speaking, I think we did it. It has been an honor to see you, hear you, know you, and to serve you.
From the first day that we opened, we have had the support of everyone one of you who walked through our doors. Most local, some wanderers, many regulars, and all gracious. In the early days, it was just Rick as the Bartender and me as the Chef.

As we grew, we added to our staff and our customer base. I am not sure which time I liked better- the hurried days of he and I walking to the restaurant- to open for dinner-- we live 4 blocks away or the more planned out events: cooking classes, murder mysteries, celebratory brunches, wine dinners, bourbon dinners, bbqs and seafood boils on the Patio, receptions for local artists, holiday parties, business meetings, team building events, trivia, karaoke, art classes, or my absolute favorite- private dinners celebrating birthdays, engagements, babies, or anything worth celebrating- and really isn't everything worth celebrating?
When you support a small business, you truly are supporting the ambitions of the person or persons who have the desire and hope to succeed. For my parents some 50 years ago, that support allowed for them to raise a family and send their kids off to college (without loans- our college fund came from a good weekend of sales-- It was University of Maryland and one semester was about $2000. (insert loud sigh here)). For me, it allowed the time I needed to be in their presence, spiritually, as I delved into something (other than real estate) which fuels me.
It is almost time to introduce to our new endeavor with hopefully our first event being around Father's Day. Be on the lookout for "Bourbon, BBQ, and Bespoke". Until then, check out the food truck at the Farmer's Market on select Saturdays and at local spots around town and beyond!
